Imari medium bowl with overglaze enamel (Edo)
Imari medium bowl with overglaze enamel (Edo)
This is an Imari overglaze bowl. It has an unusual rounded triangular shape. On the outer side, a picture of a dragon is drawn in red and gold, accentuated by a blue line, creating a bold composition.
Is it a doji and a teacher inside? Since it is likely to be a picture of a carp, it is likely that it depicts a passage from Hekiganroku, in which the third-class wave rises and turns into a fish and a dragon.
There is one place where glaze peeling has been repaired. please confirm.
Diameter : 18cm (at the widest point)
Height: 10.5cm
